While studying astronomy in college, I learned of a mid-1990's space expedition to Mars led by a single solar-powered robot named Sojourner. Its mission was to analyze the Red Planet's surface features but the battery life that allowed the robot to communicate with NASA could only last a few weeks. After that it was on its own all alone. This is what I imagined happened next to the universe's loneliest inhabitant.
